The Opportunity That Awaits You:
The R&D Intern will support the Surgical Instruments Development group activities. This includes design, development, and testing of handpiece components and/or sub-assemblies.
What Your Day-To-Day Will Involve:
- Provide support to facilitate the successful execution of the Design Control and Quality Engineering Processes.
- Assemble prototype products per design specifications, prints and/or engineering direction.
- Execute test protocols, collect data, and make recommendations as needed. Perform basic statistical analysis of test results.
- Communicate assignment status to project engineers.
- Maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance.
- Understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Policy & EHS Policies.
The Qualifications We Need You to Possess:
- Undergraduate/graduate student or recent graduate in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or other related discipline.
- Highly desirable for a product-minded individual with experience in mechanical systems.
- Proficiency using CAD to design and document mechanisms: SolidWorks (required).
- Experienced with hands-on testing, fabrication, and assembly in a lab or workshop environment.
- Ability to manage multiple technical projects/tasks effectively.
- Detail-oriented, organized, efficient, and reliable.
- Open to working in a collaborative and diverse environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
