Job Description:
Senior Quality Engineer, Software
The Senior Quality Engineer, Software will have continuous involvement and participation with the development teams to design, build, and test software products and underlying components. Review, verify and validate requirements, designs, and functionality of software. Support the development, execution and maintenance of test plans. The Senior Quality Engineer will verify test plans are executed as written and all test activities are documented appropriately in the final reports, including documenting all defects identified during the testing. They will assist development with identifying trends in the reported defect data, debugging problems and developing new test automation solutions as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- CAPA Status (Internal/Customer/Supplier)
- Assist in planning and designing of the software portion of any roadmaps created for the Quality Organization
- Ensure change management compliance standards are followed
- Able to review customer software requirements and ensure processes support the ability to meet those expectations
- Apply knowledge of DO178 and ability to apply it appropriately to our products
- Apply knowledge of AS9100/AS9115 and support compliance to each
- Support the System Test group as a software tester when necessary
- Support Agile development methodologies as needed
- Apply knowledge and use of quality management methods, tools, and technology used to create and support defect-free, application software that meets the needs of client/business partners
- Lead in certification events as needed
- Provide guidance on software quality practices and audits to product development or operations teams within the division as well as to clients
- Provide support in preparation and presentation of technical material for Safran Passenger Innovations and customers
- Prepare reports and correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, and status
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience in a related field
- 7+ years of experience working in a system engineering or software quality capacity
- Ability to support software integration, as well as system and acceptance testing
- Must be familiar with Software Development Life Cycle
- Able to put together a software test plan
- Experienced in working from airline features and airline hardware configurations to set up rack configurations
- IFE experience
Benefits
The starting pay range for this position is $98,000 to $120,000, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
