Job Description:

The Role

We are seeking an entrepreneurial-minded, highly creative product leader. In this role, you will own the product management, roadmap, product design, and full life cycle of products at Rocky Talkie. We are excited to bring our simple, rugged, and user-focused design principles to a variety of new products to improve safety in adventure sports markets and inject new ideas into an old and outdated 2-way radio industry. This role will identify market opportunities, set strategy, and execute on next generation products. This role will be hands on in helping establish go-to-market processes, program management, and working with all departments to bring the product vision to customers. The role is in-person most days in the San Francisco office, with Asia travel expected.

In this role, you will work directly with the co-founders & leadership, the engineering team, suppliers, and customers to bring the product vision to life. This role is most suitable for a passionate and experienced product leader who has brought major consumer outdoor electronics from idea to mass production. We are looking for someone who loves working with a small team and building structure along the way. Opportunity for growth is abundant, and excellence is recognized and rewarded.

What You’ll Do

  • Market Analysis & Product Ideation: Monitor and identify market trends, gather consumer insights, and generate product ideas to stay ahead of the competition and deliver real value to customers.
  • Product Strategy & Documentation: Lead the definition of product strategy, product requirements, and roadmaps. Document key features and ensure they’re delivered on schedule.
  • Product Design: Lead the design and manage the execution of products, including managing ID resources, setting the user experience, and owning packaging materials.
  • Testing & Performance Standards: Define and manage product performance and reliability testing standards to ensure the highest quality.
  • Collaborate with Engineering: Work closely with the engineering team to ensure seamless product development, approvals, and testing at all stages.
  • Suppliers: Build and maintain relationships with our manufacturing and engineering partners in Asia. Represent the product at various stages of development and production builds.
  • Go-to-Market & Education Planning: Work cross-functionally to build product education materials and go-to-market plans. Be the product advocate throughout the go-to-market process.

Join us and be part of a team that’s changing the game in outdoor communication. We believe in delivering for our customers in all aspects of our business: great products that just work, honest and educational marketing, and best-in-class customer support. We’re not just building products—we’re building a community of outdoor enthusiasts and professionals who rely on Rocky Talkies for critical communication. We believe better communication in the backcountry can save lives and would love your help in bringing our vision to adventurers all over the world.
