Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you’ve come to the right place! E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system that will fundamentally change the design, economics, manufacturing and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems. We’re intentional, we’re unapologetically curious and we’re 100% committed to innovate space-based communications and deliver actionable intelligence that will expand global economies, protect space and our planet and enhance our overall quality of life. We are seeking a skilled Electronics Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in soldering, electronics board debugging, and system testing. This role is critical in supporting the development, validation, and troubleshooting of electronic products and prototypes.
What you will do
- Perform precision soldering and assembly of surface mount (SMT) and through-hole components on printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Debug and troubleshoot electronic boards at the component and system level using schematics, multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab equipment.
- Execute functional and system-level tests on electronic circuits and products following test procedures and protocols.
- Support engineering teams by building, modifying, and reworking prototypes.
- Maintain detailed records of test results, debug findings, and rework activities.
- Assist in the development and refinement of test setups, jigs, and fixtures.
- Follow ESD safety procedures, lab best practices, and company quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers to provide feedback on design improvements and manufacturability.
- Manage lab equipment calibration, organization, and maintenance.
What you bring to this role
- Bachelor, Associate’s degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in high-quality soldering, including SMT and fine-pitch components.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, datasheets, and assembly drawings.
- Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and function generators.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good documentation skills and attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
- Bonus points for the following IPC soldering certification (e.g., J-STD-001, IPC-A-610).
- Familiarity with microcontroller programming and firmware updates.
- Experience with automated test systems or scripting (Python, LabVIEW, etc.).
