Job Description:
Security Technical Program Manager
In 2012, Lambda started with a crew of AI engineers publishing research at top machine-learning conferences. We began as an AI company built by AI engineers. That hasn't changed. Today, we're on a mission to be the world's top AI computing platform. We equip engineers with the tools to deploy AI that is fast, secure, affordable, and built to scale. Whether they need powerhouse GPU hardware on-site or the flexibility of cloud-based solutions, we've got the horsepower to make it happen. Lambda’s AI Cloud has been adopted by the world’s leading companies and research institutions including Anyscale, Rakuten, The AI Institute, and multiple enterprises with over a trillion dollars of market capitalization. Our goal is to make computation as effortless and ubiquitous as electricity.
If you'd like to build the world's best deep learning cloud, join us.
*Note: This position requires presence in our San Francisco office location 4 days per week; Lambda’s designated work from home day is currently Tuesday.
Lambda Security exists to protect all our data—across customers, employees, and infrastructure—by detecting, responding to, and preventing threats to its confidentiality, integrity, and availability. We're here to protect every byte that matters.
We’re looking for an experienced Security Technical Program Manager to lead cross-functional security initiatives, align priorities across the business, and help drive Lambda’s security culture forward. If you enjoy building clarity from chaos and thrive in highly technical environments, we’d love to talk.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and manage multiple portfolios of security-related work (e.g. proactive, reactive, exceptions).
- Create reports that provide clear insights into the state of those portfolios and our other initiatives and goals.
- Develop prioritization frameworks and action plans that ensure constant forward progress.
- Collaborate with product teams, engineering teams, and other business units to integrate security goals into their initiatives, while also taking feedback to guide our prioritization of security goals.
- Foster relationships with stakeholders across the company to drive adoption of security improvements.
- Communicate the value of security to stakeholders, including customers, product teams, and executive leadership, to drive adoption of security improvements.
- Incubate new processes and programs within the security team, and share successful patterns with the broader organization.
- Optimize existing tools and processes to continually improve program management and tracking.
You
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in program management, project management, or a related field, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices. You’ve consistently led complex projects from inception to impact, and can speak clearly about your contributions.
- Technical aptitude, with the ability to engage on technical topics and automate your workflows; this is typically demonstrated by an Engineering degree or equivalent technical experience.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and create structure where needed, while working independently with a high degree of autonomy and leadership.
- Highly organized and able to not only keep track of many moving parts, but bring others along to understand how everything fits together.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience leading or developing a component of a security program (e.g., detection & response, enterprise/corporate security, security architecture/application security, vulnerability management, security tooling)
- Deep experience with Jira
- Experience driving or providing significant evidence for compliance audits, such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, HIPAA/HITECH, or similar
- Familiarity with relevant security frameworks and standards
- Experience in developing and implementing programs or processes that have been adopted by other parts of the business
- An interest in using AI to push far beyond the status quo for a modern information security program
Salary Range Information
Based on market data and other factors, the annual salary range for this position is $200,000-$300,000. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
