Cybersecurity Engineers, levels II-III
Sigma Defense is seeking Cybersecurity Engineers, levels II-III to support the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) program for U.S. Navy platforms. The candidate will be responsible for system hardening, implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation packages, and responding to cybersecurity audits and scan findings across classified and unclassified networks. Experience with tools such as Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), Endpoint Security Solution (ESS), and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) are highly desired.

Requirements
- 3-10+ years of experience.
- Security+ or CISSP and at least one Operating System certification (Linux, Windows, VMware, Cisco) must be obtained within the first six months of hire if the candidate does not already possess the required certifications.
- CANES experience is preferred.

Personnel Clearance Level:
- Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
- Clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Technical Degree from an accredited college or university in an unspecified field of study.
Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):
- Implement and enforce DoD cybersecurity policies (STIGs, RMF, NIST SP 800-53) across CANES systems.
- Perform vulnerability assessments using tools such as ACAS, Nessus, SIEM, and ESS.
- Design, develop, implement, and troubleshoot solutions for vulnerabilities within the CANES system.
- Lead efforts to harden Windows/Linux systems, applications, network devices, and various hardware within the CANES environment.
- Support RMF activities including control implementation, POA&M development, ATO submissions via eMASS, and participate in Annual Security Reviews.
- Assist with IAVM compliance, log analysis, and audit readiness tasks.
- Perform patch management, system scanning, and incident response coordination.
- Maintain system documentation, cybersecurity artifacts, and baseline reports.
- Support system validation during test events, site assessments, and production installations.
Salary Range: $110,000- $175,000 annually.
